The Sorrentino family, now in its third generation, runs a now-historic restaurant business inside their own "osteria", present since 1950 and taken over in 1970 by grandfather Giuseppe, hence the name "Peppino", today run by Vincenzo, who together with his wife Teresa and son Giuseppe, dedicatedly offers dishes and local specialties prepared following tradition and expert experience. The cuisine is typically regional, with specialties such as homemade pasta, grilled dishes and fried fresh fish. Besides local meats and dairy products, don't miss desserts like pastiera, pasticciotto, lemon meringue cake, etc., strictly homemade, following age-old recipes. We also prepare dishes for celiacs, having attended a theoretical/practical course organized by the A.I.C. Excellent cellar management and selection, mostly featuring Campania wines, stored and served according to sommelier rules. OSTERIA DA PEPPINO is located thirty meters from the sanctuary and can also host groups; it has two indoor rooms full of old-time atmosphere, and a large garden with a striking pergola of century-old ivy, for a healthy connection with nature, all to guarantee a pleasant stop full of genuineness and age-old flavors.

highly recommended....the whole menu is also gluten-free... caserecce with seafood, fried mixed small fish (crispy and dry) and deconstructed cannolo....everything excellent..well done, well done!! If you're in the area you can't not go...

Excellent! I really love(d) this place. The service was great and almost everything was possible glutenfree. I had the caprese first wich was served with glutenfree bread and after a pasta with a filling of spinach, ricotta and tomatoes. Beautiful location and they (the waiter we had) speak English very wel. Wonderful location, truly worth recommending. Nicely outside the city center and the service spoke good English. You can order almost everything gluten-free and it was truly delicious. They're also officially certified by the Italian celiac disease association. Delicious!

Excellent!! Completely understand celiac disease and what is required. The courtyard in summer is perfect for a relaxing lunch after/before walking around Pompei. Totally recommend.

The first courses are really good, especially the mushroom tagliatelle! Also the sausage with grilled scamorza is exquisite. I don't think it's also a pizzeria. Prices average for restaurants. Worth trying!
