Il Gattopardo is neither a restaurant nor a pizzeria for celiacs or gluten intolerant people. An unpleasant thing happened yesterday: I stopped by beforehand, asking whether what I'd read online was true, I'm told I can have the gluten-free pizza, I book for two and come back at the set time. When it comes down to it, the manager apologizes saying he hadn't understood there were two of us who were celiac, he only has dough for one pizza (early Friday evening, so I imagine it wasn't even fresh but leftover), he apologizes profusely and says theirs is NOT a place for intolerant people, but that they try to have something "to accommodate customers when needed". The other dishes on the menu are NOT gluten-free, not even the meats, in whose sauces wheat flour is used as a thickener. (And I can add that the tagliata without sauce that I tried as a fallback seemed anything but fresh, so much so that I sent it back..)
