Gran Caffè del Duomo

08/25/2022 A bit skeptical, given the mixed opinions, we still had dinner at Gran Caffè del Duomo. We can only say positive things, from the really kind, well-trained staff, to the owner who patiently explained how, about 30 years ago, gluten-free started at his restaurant. The seafood spaghetti was really excellent, perfectly cooked, great quality and quantity. They offer various gluten-free options among first courses, main courses and desserts.

Stunning location with a view of the Duomo and just that is worth the stop! I had a really good pizza, I would have preferred an arancino or something smaller and savory but these are busy days (August). There was also a good choice of desserts!

I only managed to eat the granita with brioche but it was really good. Unfortunately they didn't have premade pizzette, the arancini and calzoni were only with meat.

A disaster A wonderful place, but the owner is truly rude. Little attention to contamination, he touched an arancina, obviously containing gluten, and then without washing his hands, put the GF pizzette in the microwave, where he had surely warmed food with gluten. The pizza is of really poor quality.

Excellent the gluten free cannolo, the pizzette good. We had breakfast twice and had a great experience.

Pizza, restaurant, tavola calda and pastry shop in an extremely suggestive location. If you're in Syracuse, I think it's a must to stop and eat here at least once, enjoying the splendid view of the city's Duomo. They have a dedicated menu and the AIC certification. Only downside (really common in Sicily), the really limited (almost non-existent) choice of products for vegetarian or vegan people.

Strategic position, where you can enjoy a real gluten free Sicilian cannolo in a beautiful square, the ice cream is also good

Bar across from the cathedral, immersed in a beautiful and striking landscape... though almost better than the landscape is the gluten-free Sicilian cannolo they serve!!! At this venue I only had this and I have to admit it was really good! AIC affiliated venue.

We've been to this café/restaurant both for dinner and breakfast. For dinner appetizer and pizza very good and generous. The pizza thick and soft, but still very digestible. For breakfast granita with brioche really excellent! A mandatory stop for celiacs in Syracuse

I ordered a gf margherita which wasn't bad but I've still eaten better pizzas; on the other hand I tasted a wonderful brioche with ice cream, never had anything like it before.

kind and helpful staff but arancini with overcooked rice and ragù not fresh or tasty, and gluten-free pizza dough disgusting and dry

excellent cannoli but I strongly do not recommend the pizza, it tastes like plastic. every time I've gone to eat pizza at this place I've felt unwell

ottimo ristorante pizzeria in una fantastica location. da provare anche i cannoli di ricotta e i gelati. Consigliatissimo.
