WE SPENT 9 DAYS ME MY HUSBAND AND OUR BIG LABRADOR GIRL NAMED SHEILA, WE RECEIVED AN EXCELLENT WELCOME WHICH WAS ALSO RESERVED FOR OUR DOG - THEY GAVE US A ROOM WITH A LARGE TERRACE - THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT BOTH MEAT AND FISH WITH A RICH DESSERT MENU MADE BY THEM INCLUDING AN EXQUISITE ICE CREAM - THE OWNERS AND ALL THEIR STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND KIND WITH US - ALSO WORTH MENTIONING THE EXCELLENT CLEANLINESS BOTH IN THE RESTAURANT ROOM AND IN ALL THE HOTEL'S PREMISES - WE THANK THE OWNERS MR. I stayed from August 5th to 7th, 2011 at the Hotel Gioiello in Celle Ligure (SV). Honestly, after reading the comment left by user IO, I got a bit scared, but my girlfriend (celiac) and I went anyway despite that.. Thank goodness we didn't listen to this "review" (if we can even call it that....) the two of us had a great experience! The whole hotel staff was really thoughtful and really kind to us. The food exceptional and for this we have to congratulate the cooks. Congratulations, keep it up !!! Warm regards. Luca & Manuela

I'm celiac and I've been going to Hotel Gioiello for several years now.I'm really satisfied with this establishment where I've always found kindness, thorough cleanliness and excellent value for money.Above all they always reserve for me an excellent, safe and varied gluten-free cuisine.(Even the desserts and the bread are made in-house!) I'll keep going to this great establishment in Celle Ligure!

Booking made at this fantastic Hotel about 4 days before arrival due to my husband's work reasons.. For the two of us a GROUND FLOOR ROOM (I'll explain better later) and my parents in their annex (DISGUSTING!!) because those were the only rooms still available. Arrival in the morning around 7:45.. not very courteous welcome - rushed and chaotic (sorry for the term).. I should mention our stay would have been short: Friday July 1st - Saturday July 2nd - departure planned for Sunday July 3rd. My parents are taken to their room in the "annex" (ABOUT 200 METERS AWAY FROM THE HOTEL).. As soon as we walked in we felt a bit bad..we found ourselves in front of a really tiny room so narrow they could barely even turn around, with an insignificant window and a really tiny closet.. Then came our turn..They give us the room: FLOOR -1..below the restaurant..it felt like walking into a bunker!!! An awful room..smaller than my parents', a bathroom that must have been 1 meter by 1 meter (the shower curtain was bigger than the shower itself....) saying the mattress was soft would be too kind..a window that was laughable.. it was somewhere between a roller shutter and a shutter (and it was even defective...).. We chose this hotel because I have food intolerances - I'm celiac - and at this establishment they take care of preparing gluten-free food. We shouldn't have accepted the rooms when we were given them, but where would we have found a hotel within a few hours that specialized in this kind of cuisine??!!!! That's not all..at dinner we found out from my parents' account that the power outlets in their room were coming loose and when opening the windows twice the handles came off in their hands..you tell me if these are rooms fit for customers...!!!!! At payment time we had to assert our reasons with some difficulty because the owner claimed he had always behaved well with customers who've stayed at the hotel for several years, that he had never received similar complaints..but he left out the fact that for short stays he always reserves this unfair treatment!!!! And we weren't the only ones to complain..because another couple received the same treatment!!!! We will never go back to this hotel.. it was truly a stay best forgotten
