Whenever we come to Italy we look for places where we can eat or buy gluten-free products for our celiac daughter. In July 2017 we discovered the ice cream shop l'Essenza del Gelato. What a beautiful surprise! The ice cream: really good, with a true and pure flavor. But what impressed us most was the way they prepared the ice creams: with a lot of care and knowing perfectly well what to do and what not to do. Without me having to ask or explain, the lady washed her hands, took a clean spatula, and used a fresh part of the ice cream. Our daughter doesn't always have the confidence that things will be fine when eating out, but at this venue she ate without any problems and without fear. Compliments! For us the number 1 ice cream shop we've been to in Italy! Highly recommended!

I've happened to go to this ice cream shop more than once, but in Summer. Really good, quality ice cream (also for those intolerant to lactose like me and for celiacs) prices, very nice atmosphere and all the staff kind and helpful. I highly recommend it!
